Today, I woke up remembering a dream I had last night. But alas; I didn't reminisce on it much since I usually go back to sleep after having breakfast for a brief minute. So in consequence I can't remember my dream right now. That's the mystery behind dreams. You can't remember most of them, unless you keep reminiscing about it, or write it down. Or keep talking about it nonstop until someone punches you to silence.
I am one of those guys that when they're interested in one thing, they keep researching and try to learn all about the topic, one of them being dreams. I find the dream world very interesting, and wonder how they work. They can be so random, funny, linear, interesting, and whatever it is that you've been storing in that sick mind of yours.
A few months ago, I started keeping track of my dreams by keeping a Dream Journal of mine where I write every dream I remember, trying to exercise my dream recall; and boy, does it help a lot. Although I haven't done it much anymore, since I've been getting a bit lazy with it because, obviously, the best time to write your dream is when you wake up (or else you'll forget...), so I tend to not want to do it when I wake up. I just faint back to sleep.
Now... Why am I writing about this? I have an experience I want to share to whoever is reading this... Anyone of you ever heard of a Lucid Dream? Yeah. That's a goal I have. To have awareness on my dreams. Some people may wonder, "But Daniel! That idea far fetched! There's no way that's possible!". But I'm afraid you guys are wrong (unless you actually bothered to Google the topic a bit...). Lucid Dreams are completely possible.
Why do I know that? I've had them before. When I was 8 years old (I think) I used to have a dog (Willie) , but it passed away a few months before I was 8. After that, I got a new dog (Kenny). I was totally obsessed with the Fairly OddParents at the time too. Anyways, one day I went to sleep, and I still remember the dream I had that night perfectly. I WAS SLEEPING. WITH MY EYES CLOSED... IN BED. 8-y
Dream: I was in a white background with nothing on it. I think I was in a third person view looking at myself walking around. A while after walking, I saw Willie walking around. I was thinking to myself "What the hell are you doing here. You're dead". I was in a shock. When I thought that, Cosmo and Wanda (fairies from the cartoon) came up and said "We brought him back to life, man!". I was all "Ah. All cool then." Then I thought, "Wait... I don't have fairy god parents! Hold up... I'm in a dream!". After that, I did all the stuff I could do before I woke up. Anything I wanted to do (which was an amazing experience). This happened to me 2 or 3 nights (lucid dreaming, that is...) I could even make a duck make a headstand and spin 'till a tornado destroyed my dream world.
NOTE: I didn't actually do the duck thing. But I might!
6 years later (A week ago), something similar happened. I'm not sure you guys care about it, but it was another lucid dream, after a lot of dream recall and researching more so I can lead myself to lucid dream. Yet, another lucid dream. Although I haven't had another one ever since that day.
Concluding the dreaming topic (finally)! I find dreams interesting and I am not finished learning about it, for there is a lot to learn about them. Lucid dreaming can help me a lot for other topics I'm interested about (which I may write about some day...)
